Therefore i found myself boarding a metro to visit this much famous place after cajoling a friend into going with me last evening.
On getting off M.G Road station we made our way through the meandering streets of North Calcutta, where at least 3 autos tried to kill us en route through their rash driving!
While climbing the steps of the 2nd storey building it reminded me of the recent photographs of the old buildings of Park street. The inside of the coffee house however was a decent, clean place with people of all age group hanging around.
The coffee though i must say was like my worst nightmare coming true! It was watery and d cream seemed like malai......eeeeeuuugh!(I had cold coffee!) Maybe i should have just struck to normal coffee instead :(....but anyway the adda session sort of made up for it. Both of us i guess were feeling very philosophical i guess because our discussions ranged from gayatri mantra, life,career,marriage....to even parenting....lol!
In order to compensate we walked out of Coffee House and my friend wanted to try out the famous sweets of PUTIRAM a few blocks down from there. From there we decided to go to Esplanade to have fruit juice(both of us were feeling crazy i guess)......after a refreshing fresh fruit juice, I just could not control the urge of wanting to go shopping( I was right there in New Market for god's sake!) and hence the next 40 min i nicely spent shopping and had an absolutely delightful time bargaining with the vendors!( I have actually become quite good at bargaining these days!)
Loaded with bags, I finally reached home @9!
P.S. before anyone gets the idea that am a shopaholic, spendthrift etc....I didn't buy a single thing for myself...all were gifts for various people!
